Privacy Policy

Effective August 1, 2026

TYRE HUNT is a car-spotting game: you photograph cars you find in the world, our verifier identifies them, and your finds build a personal Registry you can share with other hunters. This policy explains, in plain language, what information the app handles and why.

What we collect

Account basics. Your email address (used only to sign you in — we send a code or link, never a password), your chosen hunter handle, and your hunter code.
Capture photos. The photos you take of cars. Each photo is sent to our verification service to identify the car. Verified captures upload a small thumbnail to power the community feed.
Capture details. The car identified, when you shot it, and — if you allow location access — where. Location is used for the map, distance-based features, and event lobbies. You can deny location and the app still works.
Social activity. Likes, comments, crew connections, blocks, and reports you make.
On your device. Your full garage — original photos, dossiers, stats — is stored locally on your device, not on our servers.

How photos are processed

When you capture a car, the photo is transmitted securely to our server, which uses an AI vision service (Anthropic's Claude) to identify the vehicle and check the photo is a live capture. Photos sent for verification are processed to produce the identification and are not used by us to train AI models.

What's public

TYRE HUNT is a social game. When a capture counts, its thumbnail, car name, rarity, and your handle appear in the community feed visible to signed-in hunters. Your profile shows your handle and Registry stats. Your precise location is never shown to other users. Comments you post are public to signed-in users.

What we don't do

We don't sell your personal information.
We don't run third-party advertising or tracking networks.
We don't use your photos for anything except running the game.

Services we rely on

Your data is processed by the infrastructure that runs TYRE HUNT: Supabase (database, authentication, file storage), Anthropic (image verification), and Vercel (app hosting). Each processes data only to provide their service to us.

Retention & deletion

Server-side data (account, published captures, likes, comments) is kept while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time inside the app: tap your streak ring → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account, published captures, thumbnails, likes, comments, and social connections from our servers. Photos stored locally on your device remain yours and stay on your device. You may also request deletion via the support contact on our app store listing.

Children

TYRE HUNT is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

Security

Data in transit is encrypted (HTTPS). Server data is protected by row-level security so users can only read what the game intends them to see. No system is perfectly secure; report concerns via the support contact on our store listing.

Your choices

Location — optional; deny it in your device settings and captures simply save without coordinates.
Camera — required to play; the app is a camera game.
Blocking — hide any hunter's content from your experience, in-app.
Deletion — in-app, any time, as above.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date above and note it in the app.
